TRAINING OVERVIEW

This class is designed for professionals who are responsible for managing relationships between organizations and the public. It is designed specifically to provide tools for Public Relations writing for use in any field.

The course begins by addressing the role of the public relations writer, provides an overview of the ethical and legal responsibilities of PR writers, and includes an exploration of the concepts of persuasion as they relate to PR writing. The course also provides registrants with an overview of public relations writers’ key tools and their uses including strategies for media management (i.e. media kits, pitches, backgrounders, and columns) as well as explores best practices and provides tools to support writing for select stakeholders and publics.

Case studies will be used as opportunities throughout this course to engage with and apply the tools and techniques covered.
